The Dojo

The word dojo means club.  The Bend Karate Club, a not for profit organization, was established in 1986 in Central Oregon by Sensei Tim Hanlon.   Sensei Hanlon is a Certified JKA Instructor and Member of the AAKF, ITKF and JKA

For over 20 years, Sensei Hanlon has shared his knowledge of Shotokan karate, following the instruction of Sensei Hidetaka Nishiyama, the Chairman of the International Traditional Karate Federation (ITKF) and President of the American Amateur Karate Federation (AAKF) in the United States. The current members of the dojo include many of Sensei Hanlon's original students, some of whom are now black belts teaching classes at the dojo.  The teachers are not paid but donate their time.

To maintain our facility or dojo, we rely on dues from students.   All classes are paid month-to-month with no contractual obligations.  If you are interested in joining us, please drop by on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 6pm to 8:00pm.

The dojo is located at 502 NE Revere Street in Bend, Oregon.    Please contact us online or call and leave a message at the dojo at               541.382.3892       .
